Ashley is an award winning PhD student, researching and teaching journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder. Originally from Savannah, she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Spanish from Georgia Southern University. She also has a master’s degree in Journalism Entrepreneurship from CMCI at the University of Colorado Boulder.
As a freelance writer, Ashley’s work has been published by a variety of media outlets including Time, Huffington Post and Triathlete. She has also worked as a local news reporter for The Denver Post and The Colorado Sun. Her professional interests include health & fitness, lifestyle & culture, and LGBTQ+.
Ashley has lived abroad in Pamplona, Spain, enjoys training for long-distance triathlons, and spending time in Colorado’s oxygen-deprived (yet beautiful) Front Range with her camera and pup. Some of her favorite subjects to capture as a photographer are nature, sports, and travel.
